Poland Emerges as Seventh Top Destination for British Migrants
British media outlets have recently spotlighted Poland's economic achievements, emphasizing ascending incomes, vigorous expansion and widening prospects for qualified professionals. The reporting signals a fundamental transformation in how the nation is viewed—shifting from primarily a labor supplier to a dominant European economic powerhouse.
The demographic movement has captured the interest of Polish corporate executives, including Rafal Brzoska, founder and chief executive officer of parcel-locker giant InPost. Addressing a business gathering in London, Brzoska urged Poland to capitalize on the momentum generated by Britain's evolving migration dynamics.
"This trend of British exodus and migration to Poland is only likely to increase," he said. "We should do everything to ensure that the most talented people come to us -- those who want to build value and strengthen the country, not just survive."
Brzoska characterized the strategy as "smart migration."
The escalating number of Britons establishing residence in Poland occurs alongside a reciprocal demographic shift flowing in the reverse direction. Following years during which the UK served as the predominant destination for Polish migrants, that stream has decelerated—and partially inverted.
At its zenith, more than one million Poles resided in the United Kingdom. Between 2017 and 2022, however, an estimated 200,000 Poles returned to Poland.
